Barbecue Sauce ( Molasses ) Recipe

 


1 tb Olive oil
1 sm Onion(s)
-minced (1/2 cup)
1 Garlic clove(s)
-minced (1 tsp)
1 Jalape¤o chili
-seeded and minced
2/3 c Molasses
2/3 c White vinegar
1/3 c Dijon mustard
1 tb Soy sauce

Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion,
garlic, and chili, and cook, stirring well, for 2-3 minutes, or until
soft but not brown. Stir in the remaining ingredients and simmer for
5 minutes. Let the sauce cool before serving. Goes particularly well
with pork and duck.
