The Christmas tree first appeared in the French city of Strasbourg in the early 17th century. How appropriate that the dominant motif of our Pistoulet Christmas pattern is a simple Christmas tree, as featured in the center of the salad plate, and its branches. The dinner plate is an embossed garland of tree branches and ribbons, which is echoed in the hand-painted decorations in rich reds, Pistoulet yellows and greens on the mug and accent pedestal mug.
